MyGuide's Company History

MyGuide for Seniors was founded in the fall of 2003. Jim Kelleher, MyGuide's Chief Executive Officer, was trying to conduct a cross-country search for an Independent Living Community with an on-site medical clinic.

Visits to bookstores and libraries, calls to associations and government agencies, and searches on the Internet all yielded a frustrating lack of cohesive information.

Subsequent focus groups with consumers revealed that every participant had experienced challenges researching and selecting a senior living community for a friend or loved one. Focus groups with over 100 senior living communities also revealed that there was a pressing need to better educate the public about senior living communities and what they really have to offer.

As a result, MyGuide for Seniors has brought together a talented team of business and health care professionals to create MyGuide for Seniors.
